Dogs need a place to stay where they can be protected from the weather. However, not all dog houses are created equal. Some fall apart or get torn up by dogs so easily, they are not worth the money top spent sheltering a dog for the brief period these dog houses last. You need something sturdy and longer lasting than houses made of plastic or other flimsy materials.
Wood dog houses last much longer. Any type of wood usually last longer through the wear and tear that dogs inflict on their abode. But perhaps the best type of wood to choose is cedar as it is also naturally weather resistant. Since cedar produces its own oils, this means you won’t have to spend time treating the wood because it will naturally resist moisture when it rains.

Minimize the messes that you have to clean. When a cat leaves the litter box, extra soil tends to get kicked out or spill off his feet. It often leaves pet owners with the task of sweeping or vacuuming more often. Contain the mess with a cat litter mat.
Messes are easier to deal with when a litter mat can help catch all or at least most of your cat’s excess litter. Although it may not completely eliminate the problem, it can definitely help reduce the mess and your workload. Buy a cat litter mat with deep ridges and is large enough to go all the way across the area where your cat exits and enters the litter box.

It can vary among different breeds but dogs usually sleep around 13 hours every day. Come to think of it, that is practically half of their lives. Although they seem to sleep a lot, they actually sleep light and wake up more frequently than humans. Just like humans, dogs go through two kinds of sleep patterns – rapid eye movement and slow wave sleep. The thing to remember is that when interrupted while sleeping, dogs can be dangerous.
The amount of sleep that a dog needs also depends on his activities around the house. If left by himself most of the time, he will get bored and head to his dog couch more often. He will be doing this more frequently as he ages. But younger dogs who play a lot with children will find incentive to put off his nap. It is important to establish a set routine for a new dog from the outset. It will also be beneficial that children are aware of the dog’s sleeping habits so that he is not bothered when it is time for his snooze.

A puppy can be the best thing that happened to you. A puppy can be your worst nightmare. The difference between these two statements is in dog obedience training. A well trained dog will make both you and your dog’s life easier. Also, you can be the envy of all pet owners.
Dog obedience training should start as soon as you get your puppy. Word of caution, do not get a puppy less than 12 weeks only. You’ll get lots of behavioral problems. Conjunction to this, the earliest you should train your pup is 12 weeks. Before that it’s useless. You start with the basics, leash and collar training. After that, you can work with potty training and simple commands.

When purchasing a puppy, you should know its history. Be informed about the breed. What are they like? What is their health like? Because of inbreeding to produce pure breeds, most dogs are prone to hip problems and skin disease. Arguably the best thing you can do for your pet is give them organic dog food.
There is a reason why feeding your dog chicken flavored dog food is bad. The main argument against it is because chicken tend to cause allergies. This also holds true for humans. If you have allergies, your doctor will ask you to refrain from eating chicken. What most people don’t tell you, is chicken per se is not the allergy causing agent. What cause allergies is the food and growth hormones the chicken eat and take. If you eat free range chicken or organic chicken, then you won’t get allergies. That’s why organic dog food is good for your dog. It will make your dog healthy both inside and out. You won’t need good shampoo and conditioner to make their coat healthy and shiny. It will just shine naturally because your dog is healthy.

No other animal is more majestic than the Arabian horse. They look so long and fast. They were originally bred for their stamina on the dessert terrain. They can be ridden for days, stopping only to fuel. It is this trait that created the horse endurance race. Some endurance race goes for 100 miles or so. Of course, you have to get you and your horse endurance training before you attempt this.
Horse endurance racing of 100 miles can go on well over 10 hours of non-stop riding. Horse endurance training is no joke. It is very taxing to both horse and rider. Before starting out, get the right equipment. Get a good helmet and comfortable clothes. You don’t want to chafe during a ride. It will just get more painful as you go along.

Cats like to sleep, eat and play with their toys. Lounging by open windows are also favorite things cats do. These are rather tame activities that cats love to do although I have heard of cats who like to fly across the room or roll in the dirt. When they get naughty they can be a nuisance. They will scratch out all your wooden furniture and climb up your cabinets and topple down your favorite ceramic vase.
But we love our cats and like to provide them with whatever will make them happy. Like any pet, or human being for that matter, there are basic things that cats need. They will need daily food, water as well as occasional veterinary visits and a nice and safe place to live and grow up in. We don’t have to buy them expensive things like cat condos, climbing tree gyms and fancy sleeping beds. Simple cat furniture will do plus a lot of time spent playing with them.

Having pets at home is like having children. You always have to look after their welfare. And like kids, pets tend to get themselves in various situations that may be potentially harmful. Always keep a pet first aid kit handy. You’ll discover how useful this is when your pet gets hurt for the first time.
If you have to travel and need to bring your pets along, make sure to secure a first aid kit exclusively for them. The elements inside these kits can be simple pet items such feeding bowls, water, vacuum-packed pet foods, and blood stopper in case of injuries. It is also wise to bring along an extra rope and leash.
