How Hikari Fish Food Started

In 1877, a Japanese named Tozaemon Kamihata started carp cultivation. Almost 7 decades later, in 1946, another Kamihata, Tokichi Kamihata, opened a Koi carp store in Himeji City. In 1961 Shigezo Kamihata established the Kamihata fish Industries, the Kyorin company, Ltd. The Kyorin Company has expertise in ornamental fish breeding. They also produce the finest premium aquatic diets available today.

Hikari is a line of specialty fish food brand manufactured by Kyorin food Industries in Japan. It is available in some parts outside of Japan including Hongkong, China, Singapore and the United States. The Hikari fish food company’s success is anchored on their understanding of fish, their eating habits and dietary requirements. They start by studying the actual habitats of tropical fish. They compliment this with intensive laboratory research. They actually use their products in their very own Koi farm. BTW, they are also the largest shipper of live tropical and marine fish in Japan.
