Illnesses in dogs are a common phase every dog will undergo once in a while. The fact is that most dogs are animals of the outdoors and are usually exposed to all kinds of elements that may cause illnesses. Fortunately, dogs have a natural healing mechanism that can combat common dog illnesses. Some dogs will exhibit signs of sickness but, before you know it, they are up and about and feeling well.

However, this isn’t always the case in some mutts. Some of the serious dog illness symptoms you need to watch out for is excessive loss of weight and loss of appetite. You should also watch the discharges that come out from you pet’s ears, nose and eyes. If your dog suddenly has an unusual fear of water or doesn’t want to drink, call the pet control unit of your town at once as these are signs of rabies.
