ferret treats

Ferrets are carnivores because they lack the ability to obtain nutrition from plant matter. Thus, a ferret’s diet must be high in animal protein and fat but low in fiber. Even ferret treats must follow the same requirements. These animals need to be fed every 3 to 4 hours as they have a quick metabolism as well as a short digestive system.

Ferret owners are advised to have food constantly available. Fresh, clean water is also necessary at all times. Give your pet plenty of exercise to prevent or resolve obesity though. That is the best way to keep him healthy instead of restricting his diet if all other health problems are ruled out.
